..::[ The Bitcoin Foundation: STATE OF BITCOIN ADDRESS ]::..

     [ Date: 2016.06.28 ]
     [   Co-Chairs: mod6 [R.01] && ben_vulpes [R.02]    ]

0x00]: Introduction

It is with great honor and privilege that The Bitcoin Foundation embraces
this opportunity to address the public on the state of current progress,
obstacles and continuing steps in our mission.

0x01]: Accomplishments

mod6 completed and deployed a version of the `t' ticking system (released
last month [R.03]) in the form of an IRC bot (`tb0t') to the chamber of The
Most Serene Republic, #trilema. There is a related Qntra article outlining
the details [R.04]. Thus far, four projects [R.05] and corresponding tickets
   have been created.

0x02]: Complications and Obstacles

mod6 created a genesis vpatch for `V', which generated much discussion
in #trilema [R.06] [R.07]. This vpatch remains unreleased at this time until
further investigation can be conducted. More to come.

A bug was found in the most recent Reference Implementation build script
http://deedbot.org/build-bitcoind-V99995.sh [R.08]. The defect is attributed
to the URL for OpenSSL on line 63 changing:
   from: `http://openssl.org/source/old/1.0.1/openssl-1.0.1g.tar.gz'
   to: `https://openssl.org/source/old/1.0.1/openssl-1.0.1g.tar.gz'.

The overall goal is to resolve this problem with the new makefiles for
the Reference Implementation [R.09]. Regardless, if this is not made
available in July, a new version of the build script will be published
in the mean time. Stay tuned.

0x03]: Continuing Steps

Main development focus for the Reference Implementation in July will be in
working towards getting the makefiles into place and into V.

0x04]: Conclusion

The Bitcoin Foundation would like to bestow our sincerest thanks and
gratitude to the contributors and community for its support and insight.
