..::[ The Bitcoin Foundation: STATE OF BITCOIN ADDRESS ]::..

     [ Date: 2018.08.29 ]
     [   Co-Chairs: mod6 [R.01] && ben_vulpes [R.02]    ]

0x00]: Introduction

It is with great honor and privilege that The Bitcoin Foundation embraces
this opportunity to address the public on the state of current progress,
obstacles and continuing steps in our mission.

0x01]: Accomplishments

0x010: mod6 conducted a regrind of ben_vulpes' original Excise Hash Truncation
vpatch [R.03] and posted it [R.04] to the BTC-Dev mailing list [R.05].
Upon doing so, ben_vulpes reminded mod6 that the regrind of his vpatch
is an opportunity to put in the much discussed Manifest File [R.06].

0x011: trinque's [R.07] TRB node added to the list of Advertised Republican
         Nodes [R.08].

0x02]: Complications and Obstacles

0x020: There were some intermittent connectivity problems with the Mailing
List during the month of August. To find a more permanent solution,
mod6 and jurov [R.09] began steps to move the Mailing List Archive to
the Foundation's server at Pizzaro. This project is currently
         on-going.

0x03]: Continuing Steps

0x030: mod6 will work towards a second submission of an Excise Hash Truncation
vpatch that includes a manifest file.

0x031: The Raw Transactions project is still on-going and will continue as
time permits. There was no forward progress on this during the month
of August, but remains a priority as time permits.

0x032: mod6 intends to regrind and submit a vpatch for the phexdigit bug
         discovered previously [R.0A].

0x04]: Expenditures

0x040: 0.01728048 BTC for colocation services at Pizarro [August] [R.0B].

0x05]: Conclusion

The Bitcoin Foundation would like to bestow our sincerest thanks and
gratitude to the contributors and community for its support and insight.
