-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 What follows is the output of an experiment where blocks pulled from a node operated by mircea_popescu, on the night of June 28-29, were 'dumpblock'-ed and subsequently fed into 'eatblock' on a fresh (ab initio) instance of bitcoind. Both steps took place on a 'stator' build. Prior to each 'eatblock', 'pmap -XX ' was called and the result recorded. Finally, these figures were plotted, to give a picture of memory consumption over time in a bitcoind instance lacking a network connection (thereby lacking mempool) and pulling blocks deterministically. Manifest: restarts.txt ............ picture of memory consumption following experiment, and immediately following two restarts of bitcoind. note how footprint remains approximately the same after restarting! conv.py ................. script which processes the pmap dumps table.txt.gz ............ raw table, produced by conv.py plot.gp ................. gnuplot script, produces plots *.png ................... the plots themselves. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBCgAGBQJVk/ipAAoJELmCKKABq//HUhAH/2ut0X6/6eoWo8xNNW7uNx+z V1W3javaiFzYtUzSba24Ag2bi42zun7hQHAVKqcL0TDLimUqVwRQzCAF7unlLkPE I00N6auh58MoadTNIW/sW8Aw0hMeEmrpPpVj8ott9v0jIVBJKR702uYYNhD/YNHx Cskg9WhZAYVuMqgBblGtZhJc93KsV+UB0KECNlbXUt/zsHjCCM4ROYp/urjZUiRE 5Hs9hTJeAWN1ZTJVGJdh/s7pZe4yYTbjIwSOpIDfx5k91CxR8Nyf5HxahJ7TUCw8 nO7cEm6pU3xCgdkCLA9AtXZcBXlqhTNREdQst/FdJje0zGoE15i/Ia8JsrX8+wA= =6rPG -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
