-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 ..::[ The Bitcoin Foundation: STATE OF BITCOIN ADDRESS ]::.. [ Date: 2016.07.28 ] [ Co-Chairs: mod6 [R.01] && ben_vulpes [R.02] ] 0x00]: Introduction It is with great honor and privilege that The Bitcoin Foundation embraces this opportunity to address the public on the state of current progress, obstacles and continuing steps in our mission. 0x01]: Accomplishments The Foundation spent the first half of the month updating, testing, and integration [in V] of trinque's [R.03] Makefiles [R.04]. There is more work to be done along this vector; consolidation, usage of local or remote dependencies, and verification thereof. Much progress on this project was made during the month. The latter half of the month was spent resolving issues encountered with dependency availibility for the Reference Implementation. 0x02]: Complications and Obstacles During the effort spent on the Makefiles as noted in section 0x01, mod6 updated the Reference Implementation build script; however, during the testing phase, failures occurred as there were lasting service outages with distribution sites for at least two of the external dependencies. In the past, such a problem and possible solutions have been discussed. As this problem finally arose in earnest this month, focus shifted to implement a resolution. A discussion in our chamber, #trilema, was noted in the `trb' project ticket [R.05]. mod6 worked to build proper base64 encoded deeds of the four primary external dependencies [R.06] [R.07] [R.08] [R.09] required to build the full orchestra of The Reference Implementation. 0x03]: Continuing Steps Currently, a new version of the build script [V99994] is in test, updated to utilize base64 encoded artifacts via deedbot.org. Upon a successful QA cycle, build script V99994 will be posted to the mailing list [R.0A] and the foundation ``How to build'' [R.0B] guide steps updated. With the publication of build script V99994, mod6 will focus main effort on the completion and integration of the Makefiles as described in section 0x01. In addition to the deeds of base64 encoded artifacts created this month, next month, mod6 will put effort toward creation of a list of dependencies for buildroot and creating deeds for those required. 0x04]: Conclusion The Bitcoin Foundation would like to bestow our sincerest thanks and gratitude to the contributors and community for its support and insight.
