In December of 2017, asciilifeform [R.01] created a vpatch that fixes a bug
[R.02] in the the Bitcoin Reference Implementation.

The original behavior is that only the first node that connects, at start-up,
is issued a PushGetBlocks. asciilifeform's vpatch changes this behavior so that
instead, when a peer issues a 'version' message, the node will immediately
respond asking to supply a candidate block [R.03].

The vpatch has been well tested over recent months, and is currently running
on numerous Advertised Republican Nodes [R.04] to much success. It has been
deemed that this bugfix is vital to trb nodes, and will be emplaced into The
Real Bitcoin (trb)'s vtree at The Bitcoin Foundation's site.

Additionally, the TRB-HowTo Guide [R.05] has been updated to reflect the
addition of asciilifeform_aggressive_pushgetblocks.vpatch to The Bitcoin
Foundation's vtree. It should also be noted that this vpatch required no
regrinding as it was originally based on top of the makefiles.vpatch.

Regards,
mod6
